Review: Lelo Loki

I was lucky enough to be sent three, THREE, toys from Lelo. All new, all vibrators, all for anal play. This is the first, the long awaited Loki. Referred to some as Butt Mona, but screw that! From now on I’m referring to Mona as Vagina Loki. Sure Mona (and Mona 2) are good, but Loki is for anal play so it’s way better. And everyone has a butt, so it doesn’t discriminate.

Jokes aside, Loki is Billy’s big brother, in sex toy terms. Remember Billy? He was Lelo’s signature prostate vibe until Loki came along and stole all the thunder. I loved, still love, mine. It’s still great. If I’m honest I don’t use it much these days as it’s a little small, but it’s still a great toy and still the one I’d recommend if you’re new to this anal penetration business. But if you already enjoy anal play then you might want to scroll past Billy and head for Loki instead.

Loki is very much like Billy, if Billy was on steroids. Loki is the Thor of prostate vibes and Billy is the, well, Loki

So in case you don’t know about Billy, or Vagina Loki, this is a new anal vibrator from Lelo. It’s been designed for easy prostate stimulation, although in reality anyone can use it, and it’s one of three new anal toys released by Lelo recently. It’s a waterproof, silicone coated, rechargeable vibe that has a shade under 4 inches of insertable length and 6 different power settings (all controlled by the handle).

First off, although I joked earlier about Loki being on steroids, it isn’t actually that big. If you’re used to anal play, then you should look into it. I’d say it’s too big for a first anal toy. I’d still recommend Billy if you’ve never been anally penetrated and want to try. But if you’ve had a reasonable amount of butt play before, then you may want to go straight for Loki. It’s about 1.75″ at its widest point, which may sound large, but it’s not perfectly cylindrical and if you turn it round, the same point of the toy will be under 1.5″. It’s oval shape makes it easier to insert as it doesn’t take up too much space. The overall circumference is about 4.5″, so not huge.  I’d class this as an intermediate toy, as opposed to a beginner or a size queen (like me). If you are unsure, and it’s harder to be certain with oval toys, then I’d advise going to a shop and checking one out for yourself.

If you do decide to buy one, then you’re in for a treat. Loki is a powerful vibe for its size. It has a rumbly motor inside it, that’s positioned just below the tip, which actually makes a real difference. I’ve used toys before where the motor is in (or near) the handle and, whilst some vibrations travel up the shaft, they’re never that powerful and are just as likely to give you a numb hand as an orgasm. With Loki, you can feel the most intense vibrations exactly where you’re pointing the toy.

The vibrations themselves are impressive, for a shaft that small. They range from slow and rumbly to fast and intense. Personally, I prefer the slow, rumblier vibrations, as I do on most toys. They just feel more powerful, like you can feel the toy moving more. It’s still fun when you turn it up to the max, but not quite as eye watering as at a lower setting. I also don’t bother with the patterns, although there are six different settings featuring different crescendos and stop-start variations. They’re all ok, but personally I’ve never liked consistent, repetitive patterns. I’d much rather hold on and control the vibrations myself. I’ll be the judge of whether I want to increase or decrease speed, thank you very much…

New-5

Overall, if you can take the additional size of Loki, it’s a lot better than Billy. In fact, I can’t think of a hand held prostate massager I’d rather use. Being completely honest, if I had the option of more power, I’d take it. I love the slower rumblier settings, but if they could be a little more powerful, if the motor could rumble at the same frequency just with more force, I’d take it in an instant. But currently, I can’t think of anything with as much power that’s as small. The silicone also feels amazing. It’s that minutely textured silicone that Lelo do so well, that feels ultra smooth because of the lack of friction. And the colour is amazing. I know colours shouldn’t mean that much, but the bright blue really is pleasing to look at. It’s also waterproof should you want to use it in the bath or shower. Personally, I’m a shower man myself, but the best part about being waterproof is that it’s easy to clean. I’m more of a thruster, in the shower. I’ll take a couple of dildos over a prostate massager in my wet room nine times out of ten, but I still love that this is waterproof as I can just throw it in a sink full of water and give it a good scrub, safe in the knowledge that it’ll be fine.

Sure, in the future sometime there’ll be more powerful vibes in packages the same size as this, but right now? This is the best in its class. You can buy one from Lelo direct for £119.00 by clicking here.
