Review: Lelo Billy for Bondara’s Movember Campaign

Posted November 19, 2012 by

I was asked to review the Lelo Billy by Bondara recently.  They offered to send me one but I actually bought one myself quite a while ago.  I just hadn’t reviewed it yet.  No particular reason, other than I always put the toys I buy myself at the back of my review list.

And the reason they didn’t just send me something else instead? Movember!  It had to be a prostate toy for this review and this particular one is part of their campaign.  Don’t know anything about Movember?  It’s a campaign where people grow moustaches for the entire month of November to raise funds and awareness for prostate and testicular cancer.  Check out Bondara’s page here for more information.

All of the commission I earn from Bondara this month will go straight to their campaign so if buy through the links below an additional 16% will be going towards their campaign (on top of the 10% Bondara are already donating).

So anyway, back to the toy in hand…

The Billy is Lelo‘s prostate vibrator.  It’s about 6″ in length although the important part is the end, which is 4″ of insertable toy that’s a fraction over 1″ wide.  Small? Yes.  But don’t forget that this is specifically a prostate toy (the prostate is only 2-3 inches inside the anal cavity and can be stimulated with just a finger).  It’s crafted mainly from plastic but the insertable end is covered with Lelo‘s signature smooth silicone.  Separating both sections is a silicone flare that’s designed to prevent the user inserting it any more than they should and below that is the plastic handle that contains a circular control panel.  The control panel contains 4 buttons.  Up and down control the variety of vibration patterns.  It starts off with constant uninterrupted vibrations, moves through 3 interrupted patterns that stop and start, reducing the time in-between pulses with each upward button push.  After those there a mode that starts with slow vibrations and speeds up to the maximum then repeats this.  Left and right determines the power of the vibrations.  Beneath the control panel is the charging port that’s covered with a small plug to keep dirt out.  It’s also packaged beautifully.  It comes in a sleek black box and also includes a white satin carry pouch for you to keep it in once you throw the packaging away (or not).

So to summarise, it’s all you would expect from a Lelo product, but how does it feel?  Good!  As mentioned before it’s not a massive toy so there’s not much space in there for a huge vibrator but it’s powerful for its size.  If you grip the toy’s end with your hand then you can reduce the power of the vibrations slightly but nothing major.  The silicone used is very, very smooth and is extremely easy to insert due to this and the pointed (but not sharp) tip.  The toy itself has a slight curve that makes it easier to hit the prostate.  It’s only subtle, but it does make a difference.

Overall?  It’s good.  It’s the sum of all it’s (very decent) parts.  You can really feel the vibrations and it’s easy to position.  It feels great on my prostate when I use it.  Personally, I’ve never been one to use a variety of vibration patterns on any toy.  I don’t use the pulse settings at all.  I just crank it up to 11 and alter the pressure on my prostate to change the feel.  The vibrations feel amazing against my prostate and it really enhances my orgasms.

Are their faults?  Sure.  The buttons are very easy to press accidentally and sometimes I’ve turned mine off when I didn’t want to.  The cap to protect the charger pops out quite easily, too.  But these are minor details and are nothing compared with the upsides.

So, should you buy one?  Well, they’re not cheap.  But they are worth it.  I bought mine.  I didn’t wait until someone sent it to me or harangue companies for one.  On the strength of the other Lelo toys I already owned (Bob and Ella) I wanted one enough to spend the cash and I’m not disappointed at all.  It’s sleek, it’s sexy, it’s smooth.  It’s the kind of toy you don’t mind leaving on your bedside cabinet.  The kind of toy you don’t mind showing off to your other half when you’re excited that you’ve brought one home.  It’s great to use on your own and it’s easy for a partner to operate.  You can also leave them for months and they stay charged.  I pulled mine out of the box when Bondara asked me to review it and it’d probably been six weeks since I last used it.  Not an issue.  Started first time!  I certainly won’t be sending mine off to be recycled!

If you want to buy one, you can do so by clicking here or on the banner below.  10% of the price will be donated by Bondara to their Movember campaign along with all commission I earn from them this month (on all toys, not just this one).

Thanks for such a great campaign, Bondara!
