OK, this is probably the toy that appears to be the most extreme I’ve tried. I don’t blame you for thinking that. On the face of it, it does appear to be pretty hardcore, a stainless steel tube that is inserted into the urethra and then electrified. Yep, sounds pretty scary. But is it…?
Well, the short answer is, frankly, no. But I should probably go into more detail than that. So here’s my review.
The Electro-sex Urethra Probe is a surgical steel sound that has an attachment for a TENS machine and, like all ElectraStim products I own, it’s crafted to the highest quality. There’s not a single imperfection on the whole device, which is very important when you consider where it’s going, but it’s also crafted from fine quality plastic and steel and feels expensive & luxurious, like the rest of the product line.
The Urethra Probe is unipolar, which means that you need at least one other product to use this with to complete a circuit with your body. With your ElectraStim TENS machine (I have the Flick), each output needs to be connected to two contacts that, when touching your skin, complete a loop (or circuit) with your body in the middle. Some add ons are bipolar, which means they have two contacts built in. Other add ons are unipolar, like this one, which need to be used in conjunction with a pad or loop or some other contact. I prefer to use the Urethra Probe with an ElectraLoop, which acts as an electrified cock ring.
The Urethra Probe comes in three widths, 5mm, 7mm and 9mm. I opted for 7mm as I’ve used similar sized sounds before. I think I could probably have opted for the 9mm, for a tighter fit, but 7mm is nice and easy to use. Each Urethra Probe has an insertable length of 130mm (a little over 5″). The probe itself comes on its own (with some alcohol cleaners and some lube) so you will need to already own an ElectraStim TENS machine in order to use this. Once you have a TENS machine and another unipolar attachment, you’re good to go!
So, now that all the technical stuff is out of the way, I’m sure you’re all waiting to read about how it feels. If it’s akin to some kind of horrific torture device and only for use in the darkest of dungeons on unwilling victims. Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you if that’s what you were hoping, but it couldn’t be further from it.
For a start, as I’ve said before, urethral penetration is a perfectly safe, painless and joyful form of play. Slipping a smooth, narrow object into the urethra feels no more unnatural than putting a spoon in your mouth. It doesn’t hurt, nor does it feel uncomfortable. Far from it, it feels great! This, however, does take things to the next level.
Electo-sex is different from other forms of play. It doesn’t hurt at all (at the power the ElectraStim Flick provides) but the tingling sensations are deeper and penetrate the skin more than any other type of vibration or stimulation. When using the ElectraLoops, the tingling seemed to come from inside the penis, like being stimulated from the inside out. Or so I thought. Using a Urethra Probe takes those internal tingling feelings to a whole ‘nother level.
And this is where I’m struggling. Trying to describe such sensations isn’t easy. They’re like no other. Just inserting and moving the probe on its own, without turning on the power, feels good. When turned on, it’s amazing. There are different ways of playing with it. You can keep your TENS machine on a constant setting and move the probe in and out or, my preferred method, which is to leave the probe as deep as it will go and change the power from low to high and back again. This is where the Flick setting comes in handy. If you haven’t read my previous review of the Flick, you can click here, but to summarise, there’s a setting that enables the controller to shake the machine to control how powerful a burst they want the recipient to feel A soft shake provides a small pulse, a big one increases it. It’s fun with any kind of electro-sex but combined with urethral penetration is fantastic.
When using the Urethra Probe you can feel a combination of things. The tingling from the electricity, the feelings of muscle spasms and, if used long enough, orgasm. I found that when using it turned up high, I had to keep pushing the probe back in, or holding it still. My penis never became fully erect, instead stayed in a semi erect state, but whenever I flexed my PC muscle, due to the electric charge or my own control, it would push the probe out. Flexing and relaxing over and over makes the probe rise and fall, which is good fun, but I prefer to hold it in with one hand so that it’s as deep as it can go. Which brings me to the only thing I’d change about the Urethra Probe, the length. Even when not fully hard, 5 inches is not as long as I’d like. It’s long enough to feel good but, even when not fully hard, it’s not long enough to reach the base of my penis. I found myself just wanting to go deeper, but being unable to. Other urethral sounds come in sizes up to 11 inches long, designed to be inserted deeper than the base of the penis. That’s probably a little overkill, but 7 or 8 inches would be better.
Aside from the lack of length, it feels great. It’d the kind of toy that most people probably shy away from because they think it will hurt to insert and hurt to electrify, but they’d be wrong on both counts. On the flip side, there are probably some of you who are reading this, hoping for a new way to inflict pain. Well, I’m sorry to disappoint you, but you’ll need to look elsewhere to cause that type of discomfort. This particular product is all about having fun!
So, would I recommend it? Yes, definitely. Sure, it could be a bit longer, but it’s not short enough to cause any kind of deep frustration and is still amazing fun to use. You can use it easily and safely on your own or with a partner and it can be used in a number of ways. If I’m completely honest, I wouldn’t recommend this as a first time electro-sex toy. I’d recommend trying out the ElectraStim Flick on its own, first. It’s probably best to work out if you like electro-sex before buying something like this. If, however, you already like electrostimulation or you’re already a fan of urethral penetration, then you’d be doing yourself a disservice to not try this out.
