Review: Fleshlight Ice for Strawberry Blushes

Posted March 16, 2013 by

This is my first Fleshlight.  I know it sounds odd as I’ve been reviewing sex toys for a couple of years now and they’re possibly the most obvious toy to review, but there it is.  I’ve never really been one for sleeves or really anything to slip my penis in but recently Adam from Strawberry Blushes contacted me and asked me if I’d review one of their Fleshlights. I thought it was about time I tried one…

So here is it, the Fleshlight Ice.  There are a number of different Fleshlights available but I think I picked a pretty cool one.  No pun intended.  Ok, maybe I did intend it, but forgive me…

If you’re reading this wondering what a Fleshlight is…well, they’re a type of masturbation sleeve.  They have a broad range of designs.  Most replicate a type of orifice (mouth, vagina, anus), but you can buy neutral ones if that’s your thing.  I picked the Ice, which is made to be as transparent as possible, so you can see yourself penetrating it.  The opening is moulded like a vulva, but this particular version is all about the voyeuristic nature of watching yourself (or your partner) penetrating something.

They’re crafted from, well, it’s actually quite hard to find out what they’re crafted from.  The Fleshlight website calls the material “Real Feel Superskin” and won’t say much more than that, other than they don’t use Phthalates and it’s not made from latex, plastic or silicone.  It appears to be body safe, but I wouldn’t bet on it being non-porous so I’d keep your Fleshlight to yourself, if I were you, or use a condom with it.  What I can say is that the version I have, the Ice, is particularly sticky, when compared with the normal kind of Fleshlight.  It’s something to do with the lack of dye they use.  All you have to do though is use some corn flour (or corn starch if you’re in the USA) and it’ll feel a lot better.  Or simply rinse it with warm water prior to lubricating it and it’ll feel fine.

So what’s it like?  Well, it’s  a plastic tube, made to look like a flash light (see what they did there?) and has openings at both ends, one for penetration, one for allowing air to escape.  You can use it with the rear end enclosed (for more suction) or open.  If I’m honest, it doesn’t make much difference.  Both feel good.  The rear end is easy to unscrew if you do feel like experimenting.  The texture itself is a little sticky, but when you touch it and take your fingers away, they’re not.  It feels like it should leave a tacky residue on your hands, but it doesn’t at all, and when you lube it up, it feels completely different.

This is the part where I’m probably supposed to tell you that it feels exactly like a vagina and that you don’t need a girlfriend when you have one of these etc. etc.  Rubbish.  It’s not like that… but it’s not meant to be.  If it did feel the same then I guess it’d be good for single guys, but it’d leave  the market of attached guys (like me) wanting something else.  It doesn’t feel like a vagina but it does feel good. Very good.  The inside of the Fleshlight is filled with bumps, nodules and lots of other things all designed to make thrusting feel good, which it does!  If you slowly insert your penis inside you’ll be able to feel the different sections and different sensations when you pass through it.  It feels great thrusting away but personally I like to take my time and use it slowly so I can feel everything a little more. This one also *looks* good.  It’s not entirely transparent, but you can see yourself inside it when you thrust, which looks awesome,  It’s so good, in fact, you can expect your partner to enjoy using it on you, or maybe watching you as you use it on yourself.

How cool is this?

How cool is this?

So is it fun?  Yes!  I wish I’d have bought one long ago.  I was worried it might be a bit tight (like the Tenga Flip Hole, which is too tight for me to use, but it’s fine.  The Fleshlight itself wide enough to encompass a 2″ wide penis with ease. It’s also over 9″ long so you’d have to be massive to reach the end of it…  But yes, it does feel great penetrating it.  It feels good anyway, but seeing yourself thrust into this one makes it even better.  I don’t really know why, but the visual sensation of seeing yourself penetrate and thrust into a translucent masturbation sleeve is not to be underestimated! Maintenance wise it’s very easy to clean, which is important with a sleeve.  Simply rinse it out with water.  I tend to push it over a tap and turn it on to flush it out.  You can even turn it inside out and wash it, if you’re careful.  Once you’ve cleaned it you have the option of applying a little corn flour (corn starch) which can help to make it feel realistic, if that’s what you want.  Fleshlight do sell their own powder but it’s just corn flour so don’t bother wasting your money on it.  It’s much cheaper from the super market!

So thanks Adam for sending this to me!  I’ll definitely have my eye on their other products from now on.  If you want to buy this Fleshlight Ice then you can click here and buy one for the currently discounted price of £54.85 (with free delivery) or you can browse the Fleshlight range here to see which other designs are available.  Enjoy!

I watched my Husband use his Fleshlight Ice and it was the biggest turn on. It is just really awesome to watch what must be going on inside of me when we have sex. I want a penis just to feel and play with things like this.

Great review and love the gif!

Yeah, they look amazing! I can understand why someone might contract penis envy over toys like this 🙂

Glad you like the animation, too!

I’m pretty sure the softening agent in Fleshlights is mineral oil, though I could be wrong. I have a hunch though. Would explain why they don’t want you using soap on them to clean (soap will cut the oil), and why if you leave fleshlight material on paper it leaves grease stains that smell like mineral oil (I might be one of the few people who can discern the smell of mineral oil over other oils. I’m weird like that). You are correct in that they are porous, so yeah- no sharing with these. But for use on yourself totally fine. If you were to get some raging case of thrush or something I’d probably recommend getting a replacement sleeve for it and tossing the old one, but aside from that as long as it’s cleaned after use the porosity shouldn’t be a concern here.

Ahh, that explains it. I’m not an expert on oil. I could tell you the difference between olive oil and Castrol GTX but that’s about it 🙂

      Thanks for letting me know!
