Review: Tantus Alumina Motion for Desire And Pleasure

This is my first review for Desire & Pleasure, the online sex shop run by the FPA (Family Planning Association).  I don’t normally write too much about the stores or manufacturers I review for but it’s worth noting that all profits from Desire & Pleasure will be going back to the FPA which is probably the most recognised UK sexual health charity.

Tantus Alumina Motion

I was fortunate enough to have been sent a Tantus Alumina Motion, one from their range of aluminium toys.  This is my third from their range.  Aluminium is brilliant.  It’s corrosion resistant, it’s hypoallergenic (extremely unlikely to cause allergies) and it’s the most abundant metal on Earth (so we’re not going to run out of it).  I have a soft spot for this range of toys as my first metal sex toy was from it (the Alumina Flow).  I still use it often, although I think I’ll use it less now I have this one, which has a little more feel.

Like all Alumina toys, this one (other than the tiny silicone ring used to separate the two ends) is crafted entirely from aluminium with the outer layer anodised which gives it a little more texture.  It’s also connected with the same size screw fitting as the rest of the range so you can mix and match if you have more than one toy.  That sounds like a novelty but I find myself wanting to use both ends of the same toy frequently so instead of having to clean kit before turning it around I can simply unscrew it and connect both halves to two other halves, turning one toy into two.  If you only ever use one end then this won’t really matter but if you like both then it’s worth trying.

So how does it feel?  Really good!  The anodised aluminium gives the toy a tiny amount of texture, which feels great when moved in and out.  This one isn’t really a thruster like the Alumina Flow, it’s one to use a little slower as you’ll want to feel the contours of the toy (although of course you can thrust if you want to!).  It’s also pretty good for prostate stimulation.  The smaller end (1″ in diameter, the large end is 1.4″ wide), in particular, can be used for accurately pin pointing a spot and applying pressure there.  Aluminium is also great for temperature play.  It holds temperature better than most other materials so if you want a change of feel, simply place it in a bowl of ice (or hot water) and then try using it.  Ice play is more fun than you might think.  Experiencing the toy warm up inside you feels particularly good.

So should you buy one?  Yes.  This is the third Tantus Alumina toy I’ve reviewed and I’ve raved about them all.  This one is no different.  It’s part of one of my absolute favourite range of toys.  It’s a top end toy in a luxury package that will last you a lifetime, should you treat it well.  It’s also reasonably priced for a metal toy of that size.  You can pick one up for £69.95 with free Royal Mail Special Delivery. The rest of the Alumina toy range is also there too, if you feel like something slightly different.

Thanks again to Desire & Pleasure for sending this to me in exchange for this review. It’s staying in my toy bag!
