I was lucky enough recently to be contacted by Jo Divine and asked if I wanted to review anything for them. I took a look at their website and this stunning glass dildo jumped out at me*. I hadn’t reviewed anything crafted from glass for a while and this one looked stunning & was reasonably priced.

Number62-1

Firstly, if you’ve not tried a glass toy, you’re missing out. Glass is a fantastic material for sex toys. It’s completely body safe and, importantly, non porous. Porosity is important. Lots of manufacturers (and indeed stores) gloss over it. They tout being body safe as the most important feature and forget everything else. Of course, being body safe is important, but there are lots of materials that are safe for skin, but are porous. Which means that dirt and bacteria can reside in them. Over time, what started out as a safe toy, can become unsanitary. With materials like glass, there are no such issues.

Number62-4

Now you all know about glass, let me describe this particular toy. It’s a realistic design. Well, as realistic as glass can be. The shape is realistic, the firmness is not. I don’t care how hard you think your penis is when it’s erect, it’s not like a glass dildo. Sorry. It’s about the size and shape of an average penis. It’s about 6.5″ long and 1.5″ wide. The base is a flared 2″ so it’s harness compatible, if that’s what you’re looking for. But personally, I wouldn’t use a hard glass toy as a strap on. For me, this is a toy to be held in your hand and used on yourself or a partner with finesse. The firmness in the material needs to be complimented by the delicacy in your movements. It’s a thruster, sure, but a gentle thruster. It’s for gently sliding in and out. It’s not for pounding, like toys crafted form softer materials.

I like to feel everything, with this toy. I like to feel the slightly bulbous head on my prostate and the textured veins on the shaft sliding in and out. With hard toys, you can feel everything, so you should use them accordingly. If you find a pleasant spot whilst thrusting, like your prostate, try changing the angle accordingly to really hit it. Try twisting, turning, thrusting ever so slowly to feel every bump and every texture as it slides in and out. This is how I like to use the Icicles No. 62. Some glass toys are, although quite beautiful, too smooth for my liking. The No. 62 however, is textured. It has more feel than other toys.

Number62-3

Other than the feel, it looks simply stunning. Check out the photos with the vodka martini. I took a couple, with the intention of using just one in this review, but they looked so amazing I had to use both of them I don’t normally use two photographs that similar in the same review, but I had to make an exception in this case.

There are a couple of other things to mention, before I finish. Firstly, because of the texture of the Icicles No.62, you need to be careful when cleaning it. It’s not as easy as cleaning a smooth toy. The ridges collect dirt and you’ll need to check it over thoroughly before you finish. The second issue is not with the toy, but with the website. I had to search under ‘For women’ in order to find the dildo section of the Jo Divine site. Please Jo Divine, toys are for anatomy! Dildos aren’t just for women, many guys like me enjoy them, too. I’m used to it, but many will find it off putting to have to search for a gender that is not their own in order to find the toy they want.

That aside, this is a great toy. If you want to try your first glass toy, or you want to try something with a bit more texture, you should consider trying the Icicles No. 62. You can buy one from Jo Divine for £49.99 with free UK delivery.

Enjoy!
