Review: Velv’Or JBoa for Vibrator Kingdom

Well, it had been a while since I reviewed a cock ring so when the lovely Donna from Vibrator Kingdom offered me if the chance to try out Velv’Or’s latest design, I gladly accepted.

The Velv’Or JBoa

Different from other Velv’Or cock rings(and all the others I’ve reviewed), the JBoa isn’t strictly a ring at all.  It’s a cord, crafted from silicone and arranged in a loop, held together by a hand crafted stainless steel woggle that you can move up and down to change how big you want the loop to be.  It’s quite small so, again unlike the others I’ve reviewed, is this time designed purely to be attached around the penis. Build quality is excellent with the JBoa.  There are no imperfections with the woggle or the silicone cord.  It’s quite hard for something this simple to suggest quality but somehow Velv’Or have managed it, which I hope my photographs portray.

Using it is a breeze, although there are a couple of things to keep in mind.  Firstly, wear it so that the ends of the cord point downwards (if you are standing up). This just means they’re not in the way should your parter want access to your penis (which hopefully they well!).  Secondly, take care when pulling the ends of the silicone… I found out the hard way that skin can be pinched easily between the silicone and the steel woggle if ou’re not careful.  The best way to attach it I’ve found, is to create a big loop, slip it over your (or your partner’s) erect penis, hold the woggle with one hand and pull the silicone ends with the other.  Take care to do this slowly and with a spare finger, gently press against close to the steel to prevent any skin becoming caught.  You’ll thank me later…!

The Velv’Or JBOA wrapped around a Cuban Cohiba cigar

Once on, the JBoa certainly does the trick, but then all cock rings do if you have the right size as they make it harder for blood to exit the penis which creates harder, firmer erections.  What’s great about the JBoa though, is that the size is variable.  You don’t need to know exactly which size cock ring you need before you buy it, you can simply buy one of these and adjust it accordingly.  You can also experiment with different tightnesses which you can’t do with most other rings.

Another thing to bear in mind is that the steel woggle is very tight around the silicone cord.  This is great because it means it won’t slip when you’re using it (which would render it useless) but it does mean that you should never, ever remove it.  Take it off and I’m willing to bet you won’t be able to reattach it (please don’t try!).

One final note. The packaging on this product is worth mentioning.  Usually I only write about sex toy packaging if it’s really worth a merit and this one is.  It comes in a neat little tube, similar to a cigar tube, that can be reused. It simply unscrews off and on again. It’s also the perfect size to house it.  Most sex toy packaging is bigger than necessary but it’s not the case for this product.  This can easily be carried around your person or, where I sometimes keep mine, in my leather toiletries bag.  “The ultimate gift for gentlemen”? I think the Bugatti Veyron still wins on that front, but it’s a great gift for a partner all the same!

Thanks so much Donna for sending this to me.  If you want one, you can pick one up from vibratorkingdom.co.uk by clicking here or on the logo below for the very reasonable price of £23.99 (with free UK shipping).

This a thorough and really thought out review. Your photos are stunning, excellently written <3 v.much. I had never really thought about the packaging in that way until now but you are so right. I just love how the cock ring fits all sizes, I think this is the major feature of this product as you have rightfully pointed out. Also 100% agree on the quality comment as the piece is so simple, yet so stylish, made from the best of everything. Really glad you enjoyed using the JBoa and thank you very much for you review : ) Donna

Every time I see “JBoa” I read it as “jerboa”, as in the small jumping rodent. Somehow a Jerboa cockring sounds horribly painful, but also terribly amusing. I don’t believe I’ve seen these available in shops stateside yet. Interesting.

I always read it as “Jojoba” like the moisturiser…
