Review: Titus Heavy Duty Cock Ring

Recently, I was lucky enough to be sent a huge box of awesome from Titus. Not just a couple of products to review. Literally, a huge box! Amongst the products were a few cock rings and this is the first one I shall review, the Heavy Duty Cock Ring made from stainless steel.

How cock rings work

If you’re not sure what a cock ring is or how it works, then let me explain briefly. A cock ring is a toy that clamps around the penis (and sometimes the testicles) to restrict blood flow, thus giving the user a firmer erection during play. They’re not all ring shaped and they’re not all made from hard materials either. Some are made from silicone, some from stainless steel (like this one) and some from less desirable materials. Blood flows into the penis fairly deep inside but exits very close to the skin. Cock rings put pressure on the outside of the penis making it hard for blood to exit the penis without restricting blood flow in. This creates an almost one way system so that blood finds it hard to escape. The more blood in the penis, the harder it becomes so any way of preventing blood from escaping will provide a firmer erection.

If you have a penis handy, you can try this out by making an ‘OK’ sign with your thumb and forefinger and clamping it tightly around the base. You’ll notice that, when aroused, it becomes engorged with blood and the veins protrude more than they otherwise would. This is exactly what a cock ring aims to achieve. With your fingers and the ‘OK’ sign, it’s easy to gauge how hard to squeeze. Many cock rings, however, cannot change size so taking an accurate measurement is essential. Too loose and it will have no effect, too tight and…well…worse.

Description

The ‘Heavy Duty’ ring I have been sent is crafted from stainless steel and doesn’t move at all. Other cock rings made from other materials can stretch, which enables them to be used by a larger number of penis sizes. The downside to such designs is that they often do not provide enough pressure if you are not towards the larger end of the scale. Like many styles of product, there are positives and negatives around each design. Personally, I prefer something that doesn’t move and stays firm when I do. It does require spending a little more time ensuring you have the right size, but this time will pay dividends in the future.

This Titus ring is designed to go around the penis AND testicles so please take that into account if you’re measuring yourself for one. It’s crafted from immaculate, very shiny stainless steel and is a flat design. By that, I mean that there are defined edges around it. Fear not, though, as they are not at all sharp, even though they may appear to be from the photographs. I have the ‘Medium’ size, which is 6mm thick and has a 50mm diameter. The diameter is the important measurement here, of course, and it is very important that you do measure. Even though this is a medium in the Titus range, 50mm is quite a size and in other ranges by other manufacturers, this would be large or extra large (It’s very important to take proper measurements and not just think ‘I think I have an average penis so I’ll go with medium’ as this may be too big).

How to

Putting it on is very simple but takes a few seconds and it’s important that you do things in the right order to avoid any pain or injury. Firstly, take the ring in one hand and feed your testes through it, one at a time. Once they’re through, pass your flaccid penis through. Once everything is in, pull the cock ring back until it’s at its most comfortable (I usually like to pull them back so they’re quite tight). It’s important to do it in that order, as squeezing your penis through when there’s not much space is pain free, whereas squeezing anything else… Also, without wishing to state the obvious, make sure you’re not hard when you put it on or you’re just asking for trouble.

It’s also easy for someone else to put on, too. My partner loves enjoys being the first to try things out on me and we both always enjoy it when she’s in control.

Wearing

Once on it feels very comfortable. Like someone has a tight grip around me and won’t let go. Like a butt plug or a set of vaginal balls, you can wear one of these whenever you like, not just during play. It’s not overly heavy but enough for you to know it’s there when walking around. It’s good fun to wear every day but a word of warning, though: It can be very difficult to rid yourself of an erection if you become hard.

Personally, I use these more for play than for everyday wear. When being touched or played with, everything feels a little more intense. I can feel my penis throbbing with every touch, my veins pulsating. Once on, it doesn’t move around and can be kept on during enthusiastic penetrative sex. There are various opinions on whether these devices make you last longer or shorter than normal. I can’t say I’ve noticed any difference either way but achieving orgasm is definitely more intense whilst wearing one.

For me (and for my partner, who pointed this out), it’s not just about restricting blood flow. Wearing a cock ring helps keep the testes slightly further forward, giving easier access to the perineum (the area between the testes & anus). This is a massive win as having that area stimulated is a favourite of mine and if you’ve never tried it, you really should.

Summary

Overall the style of this cock ring is fairly standard but it stands out as it’s beautifully crafted and feels fantastic. It isn’t too sharp, too bulky or too heavy. It fails on no accounts and is one of those toys I keep within reach next to the bed…

Thanks so much to Titus for sending me this to review.  You can find the entire Titus range of products here from CloneZone.  Enjoy!

      Thanks mate!

It’s a great item. I’d tried a couple of silicone rings before but they weren’t that great, if I’m honest. Rings that don’t expand are much better.

You should try one. I don’t think they’re that expensive. I might have to add the price to my review, thinking about it…!

Have given you a nomination for the Versatile Blogger Award! Check my site for the details.

It looks slightly uncomfortable to me, that there cockring….

      Wow, thank you!

I thought the same. It does look uncomfortable. I can assure you it isn’t, though. It feels great. It’s important to have the right size, of course. Too tight would feel painful and too loose would do nothing at all.

I have another couple of cock rings to review. One of which should be ready in a few days. Stay tuned!

I have seen these before put am always put off/worried by their inability to “stretch”. I prefer something that I know I have a chance of stretching to remove it after use

The rigidity can make it slightly harder to remove but the plus side is it exerts more pressure so will trap blood in the penis easier.

If you have the right size, you shouldn’t have any issues removing it. Functionally, I think stiff cock rings work better but I agree it’s a toss up between function and ease of use.

    Hiya,

    Another fab review as always!

Apologies if you have already posted about this but…

…do you have a guide on how best to measure mens ‘bits’ to ensure you buy the right sized ring?

    Thanks

      Hey!

Sorry – I’ve only just picked up this message. I don’t, but I should really write a post on it. Thanks for the inspiration. I’ll let you know when it’s up 🙂
