Review: MyTenring Hard Silicone Penis Ring

Firstly, I’d like to thank Chris from sexhealth.co.uk for contacting me about this and sending me a Tenring to review.

This device is predominantly designed for those who suffer with erectile dysfunction.  However, this doesn’t mean it’s of no use to those of us who don’t suffer from it.  Far from it!  Sexhealth.co.uk were keen to receive feedback about what it’s like to use from someone who doesn’t have ED, which is where I came in…

Description

The MyTenring is a penis or cock ring.  It’s crafted from 100% pure silicone so is Phthalate free and completely non-porous.  Lots of silicone cock rings are quite stretchy and are ‘one size fits all’.  They’re designed to give you a small squeeze but nothing major.  Often they come with added mini bullet vibes in them.  This isn’t like that.  It’s made of very firm silicone.  It will stretch if you really pull it but otherwise it will stay firm.  It’s not meant to stretch with your penis.  It’s designed to restrict blood flow.  Because of it’s non-stretch nature it comes in four sizes (27mm, 32mm, 37mm and 42mm).  I must stress that it is extremely important that you buy the right size.  Unlike stretchy cock rings, fitting is paramount.

You’ll notice that it’s not just a simple ring.  It’s oblong in shape and around the ring it has four mini holes or handles designed to help put the device on and adjust it.  Some cock rings can be a little fiddly but this one is designed to be easy even for those who have less use of their hands.  You’ll also notice that the ring isn’t a standard circle shape.  It has a couple of cutouts at the top and bottom.  These are to reduce pressure on the urethra.  I mentioned in another post about how cock rings work.  Suffice it to say that they restrict blood flow out of the penis.  This is great but if you’re wearing a particularly tight ring, you may find that it also restricts the urethra and makes ejaculating harder.  This is because the urethra runs very close to the skin on the underside of the penis.  With this device, it’s designed to keep pressure not on the urethra, but on the rest of the penis, thus restricting blood flow and nothing else.

On a side note, due to its shape it actually reminded my other half of a cigar cutter…

I don’t think it’s that similar but if you happen to own a blue cigar cutter and your eyesight isn’t 20:20 then just double check before you pick up the wrong device…

How to

Due to its shape, putting this on is ever so slightly different from putting on a regular cock ring.  When wearing, one of the cutouts should be placed on the underside of the penis, in the middle.  It won’t harm you or hurt if it’s not placed correctly but if it’s not lined up correctly then you won’t receive the benefit of reduced urethral pressure due to the cutout.  I found it easiest to slip on when flaccid and adjust it whilst becoming hard.  The handles make it easy to adjust if it’s not on quite right first time.

Wearing

This is a cock ring designed to keep you hard for short periods.  It’s not one to be worn throughout the day or for any long period of time.  It comes with a warning not to use for more than 30 minutes at a time, which is reasonable.  It’s easiest to apply with a small amount of lube.  Remember to use water based though, as it’s silicone.

Once on and erect, it felt good.  I felt that usual cock ring feeling of my penis becoming engorged with blood.  My OH noticed that my veins were bulging immediately, too.  I must admit that I was slightly skeptical about the shape.  I thought the handles would somehow be in the way but they don’t.

I haven’t noticed any difference in the length of time it takes to reach orgasm whilst wearing it.  What I have noticed, however, is that orgasms appear to last a little longer and are very intense.  Sometimes with tight rings ejaculating can be hard as, as mentioned above, the urethra can also become restricted.  This really isn’t the case with this device.  I should admit that I was also skeptical about the cutouts but they really do appear to work.  It could be psychological I guess, but they really  do appear to reduce pressure on the urethra as reaching orgasm and ejaculating feels amazing.

Cleaning

Cleaning is simple.  It’s silicone so you can clean it with the rest of your silicone toys in soap and water, a 10% bleach solution or you can boil it.

Summary

This is a great device.  I take back my initial thoughts that it was a funny shape with novelty cutouts.  It really does feel good to wear and has fantastic results.  Thanks so much Chris for sending it to me to review!

The only thing left to do now is to show you where you can buy them.  Which is here at  sexhealth.co.uk.  If you’re quick, you can buy one at their reduced price of £17.60, reduced from £22.00 (which is already a reduction from the RRP of£28.00).

After many years trying different cock rings I purchased a mytenring vacuum pump and a mytenring. After achieving a good hard erection with the pump I slid the tenring off the end of the pump and pressed it firmly against my pubic bone as soon as I released the pump my erection went south. Tried many times with help from my wife but all to no avail. Very disappointed.

      Hi Gerry,

      Sorry to hear all that.

In my experience with pumps, they’re a lot of fun, but don’t really help with erections. If anything, they make it more difficult to stay hard as they expand the penis and more blood is needed to maintain an erection.

I hope you find something that helps, soon.
