Review: Metal & Silicone Cock Ring for Ann Summers

As far as I can tell, the Metal and Silicone Cock Ring from Ann Summers is a unique product. I know cock rings have been made from metal and silicone in the past but, until now, I think they’ve all been silicone rings with metal beads inside. This one is different, it has a soft & stretchy silicone ring that’s attached to a metal perineum stimulator.

Now, the shape itself isn’t unique. It’s that teardrop style that’s similar to the Tantus Beginner’s C-Sling but, unlike Tantus’s product, the perineum stimulator is firm and, as it’s metal, holds temperature well.

Dual Material Cock Ring-1

The perineum stimulator itself is very good.  It holds heat well if you warm it up, but my favourite is cooling it so that it provides a crisp, cold sensation when worn.  Because metal conducts heat so well, it will actually feel cold even at room temperature.  This is because your body will be hotter and the heat will be transferred to the metal at a very fast rate, which provides the sensation of feeling cold, even when it isn’t.  Ever been to the gym and picked up a barbell and it feels cold to the touch, even though the temperature of the air is pleasant? That’s the same thing. What you’re feeling is the transfer of heat.  When picking up weights in the gym, it can be unwanted, but it’s great when experimenting with different sensations during masturbation, or even wearing during the day.

Which brings me to the cock ring.  It’s not bad, but it’s a little too soft to provide the wearer with the sort of throbbing, pulsating erections associated with other types of cock ring.  The silicone it’s crafted from is quite stretchy and it starts from a two inch diameter to begin with. Those two facts added together mean that it doesn’t add enough pressure to the outside of the penis to restrict much blood flow, which is how cock rings work, by allowing blood to flow freely into the penis (close to the centre), but restricting blood flow out (close to the skin).  If you want a cock ring to make your penis bulge with veins popping out, this isn’t for you. With silicone this stretchy, the hole would have to be half the size it is, possibly smaller, or the ring would have to also be made of metal (or something that doesn’t move).

For me, this is more of a cock ring to wear throughout the day. Don’t misunderstand me, it’s fun to use during sex and masturbation, but as it’s not too tight, you can wear it for long periods.  I’ve been known to wear them on and off all day and this is the type of ring I always choose, something that’s not too tight and reasonably heavy.

Dual Material Cock Ring-2

Overall, this is a fun toy.  If you’re looking for a cock ring to give you a super hard erection and amazing orgasms, I don’t think this is the one for you. However, if you’re looking for something fun to wear during the day, or if you’re interested in trying out temperature play, then you should definitely check this out.

You can pick up the Metal and Silicone Cock Ring here from Ann Summers, for £20 alongside their entire Double Your Pleasure range.  Enjoy!

Disclaimer: Ann Summers kindly sent me this toy in exchange for this review. Thank you!

For some reason I really love the looks of this one compared to other rings I’ve seen.

This looks great, i will have to buy one for our collection. I think hubby will get probably more enjoyment even than i will, which i like to happen every now and then 😉

It’s more of a perineum stimulator than a cock ring, as it’s not amazingly tight. But it’s great fun!

Temperature play, in particular, is awesome 🙂

      Oh no!

I’ll check with them to see if they’re going to restock them. Thanks for letting me know!

Managed to find them being sold by Ann Summers on Amazon for £10 a piece. Bought one and, as you say. the silicone is too soft to provide much of a cock ring effect on the penis or even to hold the metal section against your perineum. But as all the comments above say – it is good to look at.

I used to own one of these and it was by far my favourite cock ring / perineum stimulator giving the most intense orgasms. Unfortunatly mine broke, and it does seem that they are no longer available if anyone knows where I can by another one I would love to know.

Or something similar, I have tried many other cock rings since but they are all way too tight to the point of being painful.

Will keep an eye out, but I’m not sure anyone has any of these in stock, sadly 🙁

Sorry to hear your’s broke. I threw mine way in the end, having cut the silicone off the metal to see how it was attached.

On the bright side though, Velv’or sells their 3D printed nylon JNaja cock ring in sizes up to 63mm diameter – which I guess could fit your needs. It comes in a range of colours and with an arm to stimulate the perineum. They are available their their website http://www.velv‘or.com.
